The Tandoor Crete is a medium sized Tandoor oven that pays homage to the Island of Crete in the Mediterranean. Crete is rich in history and has been inhabited since the Paleolithic age, 130,000 years ago.
Crete was the centre of the Minoan empire, Europe’s earliest advanced empire. It has paid host to numerous civilisations and empires – Greek-Byzantine, Romans, Ottomans, Arabs etc.. cultures that have used wood-fired clay ovens.
The Tandoor Crete is similar in function to a clay Cretan oven. It is perfect for small spaces, such as a backyard or patio and can easily feed a family of ten.
The Crete has a height of 82cm and a belly diameter of 54cm. The Crete mouth is 29cm in diameter, will accommodate 8 skewers.
The Crete will feed your family and guests a feast of delectable meats – and most importantly, unlike other cooking methods, the meat will be juicy and rich in taste, which is the outcome of cooking within the confines of the wood-fired heated ceramic walls.
The Tandoor Crete has been enhanced to include a hinged lid, eliminating the need for a lid stand and increasing ease of use.
